In the lab for ventilation and climate technology, innovative climate systems and new components such as vents, cooling ceilings, heat recovery systems, and water-air-heat exchangers are studied in terms of their energy efficiency and thermal comfort. The lab includes a lab room and an air-conditioning system. In the lab room (variable size, max. 7.20 m x 7.20 m x 5.50 m, temperature-controlled walls), comprehensive measurement equipment is available for the study of air flows and thermal comfort, in particular for the measurement of air speed and turbulence, noise, air temperature, air humidity, and differential pressure. A vizualisation of air flows is also possible. The air conditioning system contains all components that are necessary for the thermodynamic treatment of air and can be used for the study of optimal operational strategies as well as for air preconditioning (for the experimental analysis of climate technical systems).
